The Work

I worked for seven years in Law Enforcement with my last four as the first female pilot in law enforcement in the State of New Mexico. My dream career ended with a human rights lawsuit. Now, I am compelled to serve others who are are minorities in their spaces and looking to advance, connect, be heard and grow. I am also drawn to speaking to entities that are working to change their embedded, unproductive and outdated cultures. It is becoming too expensive for entities to ignore what grows human morale and creates a functioning system. Whether it is a company, an agency, the justice system, schools, or healthcare - it's time to raise the bar. We know how to cultivate a healthy human ecosystem and it is time we did the work to implement it through voluntary compliance and creating a just culture. We all are better, happier, wiser, more productive and effective when we are given the freedom to grow.

Podcasts

The honest conversations that are taking places in popular podcasts like We Can do Hard Things and On Being are opening people's minds and hearts and banding people together to roll up their sleeves and effect change and rediscover what it means to be human. If you have a podcast or social media following, I invite you to the table. Lets have a solution-based conversation about all things related to creating creative, inclusive and humanitarian spaces.

Media

There have been several news media stories about the settlement between LeAnne and NM State Police. While news stories are great at getting the word out, opinion pages, blogs, and feature articles can really capture the hearts and minds of the public to help create change and bring awareness to the heart of what it does when we take the time to listen to someone's story. Please contact LeAnne if you have an idea for media project.

Legislation and Awareness

I know first-hand how difficult it is to face the process of filing a grievance, dealing with HR, filing with EEOC or finding an attorney. It is a process of escalation with each step presenting its own challenges. There are also changes in the law that can help make human rights and workplace-related lawsuits more just in process. If you are dealing with this process, I will do what I can to help, whether it is figuring out how to proceed or recognizing policies, procedures or laws that need changing.

Building Community

One thing I can say about this work is that it cannot be done alone. Partnering with others to generate ideas, commune over story, problem-solve and combine resources is absolutely necessary. Community keeps us honest, motivated and cared for. It also is the only way to truly effect change. If you are a member of an existing organization that could benefit from my experience, let's talk about opportunities for mutual benefit. My primary areas of experience are aviation and law enforcement, but the issues and challenges faced are universal.
